How Lingotapas works

Language learning, built for adults.

A real method, a rich menu, and a community that won't let you quietly fall off. The VIVO approach blends structure with flexibility and conversation with research — here's what that actually looks like, day to day.

The VIVO Method

Most methods make you choose: structure or freedom, grammar or conversation, going it alone or sitting in a classroom. VIVO refuses the trade-off. Four pillars, working together, designed around how adults actually pick up a language.

VIVO: Live the Language.

Variety

A tapas menu of formats, not a rigid track. Live sessions, bite-sized videos, audio for your commute, cultural deep-dives, an AI partner at 2am. You hear a phrase one place, use it in another, read its story in a third. The variety isn't decoration — it's the thing that makes language stick when willpower runs out.

I — Immersion

Real language, in real cultural context, from your very first week. You learn the way you actually absorb a language — surrounded by it across video, audio, and conversation, always pitched just past where you are now, so you're stretched but never lost. Culture isn't a bonus module here. It's the method.

V — Voice

You speak from day one — messily, imperfectly, with support — because that's the only way anyone ever learns to. We start you with guided repetition, move you to building your own sentences, then into real exchanges. Anxious speakers are welcome; mistakes are data, not failures. The only real mistake is staying silent.

O — Own

Your pace, your path, your language. Fifteen minutes a day is real progress. Follow the guided path if you want a clear next step, or wander the menu if you'd rather explore — most members do both. You're never locked into a track, and you're never behind.

Behind those four pillars sits a content framework built on decades of language-acquisition research. You'll never have to think about any of it. You just show up — we've done the engineering.

A typical week

A typical week inside Lingotapas.

The hardest part of learning a language was never the language. It was the showing up. So we built a rhythm a busy adult can actually keep — most days small, two days a little more, nothing that needs heroics.

Monday

A five-minute lesson with your coffee. One useful thing you didn't have yesterday.

Tuesday

A live group session — coaches teaching, everyone practising together. The 45 minutes that anchor your week.

Wednesday

A community challenge. Post a photo, describe your dinner, answer a prompt. Quick and social.

Thursday

Audio practice on a walk or the commute. Hands free, ears open.

Friday

Ten minutes with the AI conversation partner. No audience, no pressure, just reps.

Weekend

Whatever calls to you — a cultural deep-dive, a second livestream, or nothing at all. Rest counts too.

That's fifteen, twenty minutes most days — and a couple of moments each week where it really clicks. Miss a day? The community's still here tomorrow. Nobody's keeping a streak over your head.

The tapas menu

No single format is the whole meal. Here's what's on the table — grouped by what you're in the mood for.

The community

Language is human. So is the way we teach it.

Apps leave you alone with a screen. Marketplaces rent you a stranger for an hour. Lingotapas is neither — it's a place with people in it, and that turns out to be the thing that makes learning actually stick.

01

Coaches who know your name.

Based in Spain, part of the community, and genuinely glad you showed up. They see your progress week to week — not as a tutor you booked, but as someone in your corner.

02

Fellow learners on the same road.

People at your level, hitting the same walls, celebrating the same small wins. Practice partners and accountability you didn't have to go looking for.

03

A reason to show up.

Live sessions, challenges, a cultural thread that catches your eye, new content every week. The day never feels empty of a next step.

This is the part no app can copy. You're not subscribing to content. You're joining a room that's happy you walked in.

Every new conversation is a doorway. Where will yours lead?

What you get, in the end, isn't a language. It's the answer to a question you've been asking quietly for years: can I actually do this? The answer is yes. The how is Lingotapas — the coaches, the method, the community, the small daily practice that makes the impossible feel inevitable.
